In-House Platemaking
Coast Label was the subject of a feature article in a recent issue of Converting Magazine for its state-of-the-art platemaking capability.
The publication, which reaches 50,000 paper film and foil converting industry professionals, reported how Coast has solved the inherent problem of static-induced dust interference that all platemakers face.
Quoted extensively throughout the article, Coast Label's President, Craig Moreland, provided his philosophy to the readers before revealing the solution. "Focus on doing it right the first time, do it well and reduce or eliminate scrap", he said of his instructions to team members regarding finding the best platemaking material and equipment.
Choices, after researching the numerous vendors, included the full range of antistatic products from Modern Solutions. "We discovered that by using Modern Solutions whole antistatic system to prepare our negatives and vacuum film on the platemaker, we increased quality and we drastically reduced our platemaking scrap", Moreland advised.
"Our in-house platemaking is a competitive advantage for our customers because even if there is a damaged printing plate, we can make a new one so quickly, we'll never miss a promised ship date.", Moreland explained.
